HUSBANDRY UPDATE (0.9)

This update is the biggest one yet, themed around husbandry and a lot of new blocks, items, mechanics, additions and improvements! Check out the new Caves, Nela biome, Tree types, Farming, Blocks and Items in this update.

  • New Caves

New caves come in different variations, sometimes they’re large, open and connected, other times they’re small and mysterious. Don’t forget to explore them!

  • New Biome: Nela

A new biome is here, it has a new grass type, and a new tree type, Nela Trees. These new tree types can also generate in other biomes, giving them more variation!

  • New Farming

Farming is now in the game! You can turn Grassy blocks into Farmlands, plant Seeds, watch them grow and harvest them using a Crop Harvester!

  • New Blocks and Items

There are a lot of new blocks and items in this update, both useful and aesthetic!

Play around with Glasses, Workbenches, Disc Players, Shufflers, Discs, Extracted Diamonds and many more!

  • New TNT Mechanics

TNT now has an ignite phase and will ignite other nearby TNT blocks upon exploding, making chaining multiple of them possible!

Also there is a new Falling TNT block as well!

  • New Crafting UI

There are many improvements in this update, and UI is one of them! All of the possible crafting recipes and a list of all blocks and items can now be accessed right from the inventory menu!

  • New Level Generation Menu

Now you can now customize how your world will generate by changing the Seed, Biome and World Type before generating it!

  • Lots more!

A lot of systems and mechanics have been revamped and updated in this version, like the new animations (UI and Player), 3D block break effects, better item drops, much improved saving system, and much much more!

[MAIN FEATURES]

  • Added an improved cave generation system, they'll come in different shapes and forms now!
  • Added Nela biome and Tree type: Enjoy the new biome, The tree type is not exclusive to the Nela biome though, you can find it generating in other biomes too!
  • Added Farming: You can turn grassy blocks into Farmlands by right clicking on them with any shovel, Then you can plant seeds on these Farmlands to start farming them. You can harvest the fully grown plant by right clicking on it with a Crop Harvester. You can randomly get wheat seeds while breaking grassy blocks.
  • Added natural time progression to the game in the form of ticks. Now Dirt may randomly turn into Grass or Snow if any of them are neighboring it, Crops may grow randomly or by the scheduled tick. More functionality will be added to other blocks as well.
  • Added Shadows to entities and mobs.
  • Reworked TNT mechanics, TNT now has an ignite phase and will ignite other nearby TNT blocks upon exploding, making chaining multiple of them now possible.
  • Added two new tree types: Nela trees and Palm trees (which will generate in sand biomes), and also retextured the default tree!
  • Added a menu for the new game button, where you can customize how the map will generate by changing the seed number, changing the biome from available biomes (and all the blocks if you enable debugmode😉), and selecting the world type between Island (defualt) and Flat.
  • Added new shuffler item which can be crafted using Extracted Diamond + Gods Hand. Will shuffle nearby blocks randomly when used, have a percentage of breaking on each use, and can be repaired by combining the broken shuffler with another extracted diamond.
  • Added support for transparency, a new Glass block can now be crafted by combining two sand / redsand blocks.
  • Added Workbench, which can be crafted by combining wood with woodenplanks.
  • Added the first extracted material to the game, Extracted Diamond, which can be obtained by right clicking on a workbench while holding a diamond block.
  • Added Disc Player which can be crafted by combining an extracted diamond with woodenplanks, you can right click on the disc player. while holding a music disc to start / stop playing, and right click on it with your bare hands to switch between headphone (2D) and speakers (3D) mode.
  • Added "Peaceful" music disc, which can be obtained by killing a fly with a disc player... for now!
  • Added a new hidden biome, spooky.

[NOTE WORTHY]

  • Added new crafting UI, Crafting recipes / Blocks and Items list can now be seen in the crafting menu.
  • Revamped block drops code, added new animations for them, and improved their performance. The dropped items and blocks will now get saved in the save file.
  • Rewritten the save system, hopefully for the last time. The new system serializes data into a single save file, instead of saving each entry individually. This also allows the game to save new data into the save file without making it incompatible with older versions. The new system though is incompatible with older (0.9 Beta 2 and before) versions.
  • Added many new effects, from 3D broken block parts, to UI animations.
  • Holding 'shift' while clicking on items in the creative menu will add 16 of the selected item to the inventory.

[SMALLER IMPROVEMENTS AND ADDITIONS]

  • Added new glass sounds for the glass block types (glass - ice)
  • Added a lot of missing crafting recipes
  • Added TNT ignite animation and updated explosion particle effects
  • Improved the performance of block updates, this can be adjusted further by changing the blockupdatesperframe value in setting.ini, lowering it will increase the performance when updating the chunk but will take longer for it to update (specially after you blow up a LOT of TNT's, you will see a lot of holes in the ground) and increasing it will update the chunk faster at the cost of freezing the game for the duration of the updates, it is default on 6 block updates per frame
  • Dropped items will no longer clip / get stuck in blocks
  • Added 3d block break effects
  • Added transition animations when opening the inventory menu
  • Added a small indicator for the position of the item you've currently selected in your inventory
  • Added idle animation
  • Added screen shake and impact sound when falling from a high place
  • Simplified the block selection box
  • The max frame rate has been increased to 250

[BUG FIXES]

  • Fixed a bug where the player would automatically move in a certain direction after closing inventory / pause menu
  • Fixed the problem with mobs not despawning correctly if ".mob" save file is not present
  • Fixed a mistake in the code that would make the shore sand generate incorrectly along the edge of the level
  • Various optimizations, bugfixes and improvements here and there
  • Fixed a bug where the new caves would only generate in a single shape across all of the seeds

Note that older save files are not compatible with this update, you will need to generate a new world.

This update had 3 Beta versions, check individual patch notes on Beta 1Beta 2 and Beta 3
